Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal
Makes 4 servings
1 cup rolled oats (not instant)
1 cup milk
1 cup water
1 Tbsp. brown sugar
1 apple, peeled and finely chopped
1 tsp. cinnamon
Combine the water, apple juice, and apples in a saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat, and stir in the rolled oats and cinnamon. Return to a boil, then reduce heat to low, and simmer until thick, about 3 minutes. Spoon into serving bowls, and pour milk over the servings.
How could your kids not love this. For extra yummies add some fruit they love, a little chocolate sprinkle or syrup or honey. Sometimes, I will add whipped cream, dairy or non dairy depending. Super foods powder is good too, they will never know they are getting such yummy vitamins.!
