Hangovers – we have all had them and they affect people in so many different ways, however, there are some common side effects most everyone gets regardless. Excessive drinking gives you headaches, nausea, dehydration and makes you oh so tired. Here are some hangover facts that may help you treat yourself before, during and after the party ends.

1. Headaches are usually caused by dehydration. Your body is dry as a bone inside and without the proper hydration you will suffer many pains, one most common a headache.
2. The ill fated upset stomach. Nausea is generally due to an empty stomach flopping around all the acids. Gross.
3. Dehydration comes on after drinking alcohol because alcohol is a diuretic. A diuretic is anything that encourages your body to urinate and excrete electrolytes. Electrolytes are needed in the body for essential cell growth and repair, and your kidneys have to work overtime to process the excess fluids from drinking toxic drinks. Electrolytes are amazing for the body and avoiding anything that decreases them in your body will help you to feel your best.
4. Being tired from drinking alcohol is very common. As soon as you start drinking alcohol, your body goes into repair mode. Your body starts working fast to eliminate the liquids that are harming your bodies natural balance. Also, your not going to sleep as well being wasted so having a disturbed nights rest will increase how tired you will be.
Thinking about just these basic hangover facts… moderating your intake with water, coconut water, no sugar drinks and less drinking over a longer period of time will increase the fun, joy and help relieve a potential hangover.
