Exercising to Detox

Exercise is an excellent way to detox your body. Not only does exercising allow your body to flow more blood throughout all your tissues, exercise stimulates your body to release toxins that build up in your tissues. Along with the gained strength, stamina and flexibility you can gain from exercising, you body will function more readily and bounce back better from injuries and surgeries.

Benefits to exercise:

  • Muscular movement enables your bodies system to work more efficiently, removing toxins.
  • Increases muscle strength which can help prevent back pain.
  • Makes your body more efficient at using oxygen.
  • Promotes deep breathing which help with relaxation.
  • Makes you physically tired and aids sleep.
  • Causes the release of the bodies natural painkillers, endorphins, which reduce anxiety and leave you feeling relaxed and in a better mood.
  • Releases adrenaline, which help reduce stress.
    Strengthens the heart and helps reduce blood pressure.
  • Improves self-esteem
  • Helps control cholesterol and helps burn fat.
  • Improves circulation.
  • Speeds up metabolism.
  • Increases your bodies ability to fight off infection.
  • Helps keep bones strong and healthy.
  • Improves joint mobility and stability.

Exercise can be enjoyable. There are many different ways you can incorporate exercise into your life. Some of which you may nothave thought would be types of exercise. For example, instead of taking the elevator: take the stairs. Walk or cycle to work, take your family to the park and join in on the fun or take long walks. Swimming is an excellent exercise if your current mobility is limited. A guideline to follow for starting out could be approximately 15-20 minutes at least three times a week. Pick an exercise that you are interested in that way you will be more likely to stick to it. Exercising doesn't have to be a chore. Once you have gotten accustomed to your workouts, increase your length and intensity. The goal is to incorporate exercise into your life daily. Be sure to start out gradually. Always consult with your physician if you are starting any new programs.
