All children need sleep, exercise and good nutrition to start out any day on a good note. When it comes to all three necessities, its not easy to get your kids to understand and follow directions easily when it comes to vitamins, going to bed and taking care of our bodies. Here are some tips that might help those trouble spots a little less troublesome.

  • Try vitamins that are tasty. A lot of natural health food stores offer healthy choices in "gummies" that make it easier to get those nutrients down in the morning with breakfast.
  • In summer months when the sun stays up longer try to put black out shades over the windows. With the light not streaming in your kids natural instincts will tell them its time for rest. Carry on with your usual routine and they will eventually start to wind down.
  • Saving your child's favorite activity (if a calm one) til after teeth are brushed and shower is taken morning or night will give your child a positive incentive to getting the everyday responsibilities done quickly with out argument.
  • As parents our job is to set a good example, if we do not exercise and are overweight, it can be very difficult to persuade a younger family member to jump on the band wagon when no one is on it! Try doing family activities that move the body indoors or out. WII Sports, playing at school parks, walking around block, jumping jacks in the kitchen. One option we have tried on our son is if he is really wound up and not behaving, we make him to push ups. We will set a number and have him complete them, by the time he is done, not only has he completed a physical activity, his extra energy was focused on something other than misbehaving.
  • Getting your children to eat healthy fruits and vegetables is not always easy, if you struggle with this like most parents from time to time do, try supplying your children with a nutritious form of fruits and veggies in powder form. These nutrients are found as "green" drinks in your health food stores vitamin section. They come in flavors kids love and mix with water or milk or soy... you name it. Kids love it and its packed with more fruits and veggies then you could ever pack down there little throats. With children's growing bodies, the vitamins are so essential in creating strong and healthy bodies during those young years.
