Symptoms of Stress

Can you identify stress? Are you experiencing a lot of these symptoms of being stressed out? Sometimes I just need a break down of the health effects of stress symptoms so that I can really know how my wellness ranks!

 

Here is a list of common symptoms of stress:

 

Cognitive Symptoms:

  1. Anxious thoughts
  2. Fearful anticipation
  3. Poor concentration
  4. Memory problems
  5. Continual worry
  6. Trouble thinking clearly
  7. Loss of sense of humor
  8. Lack of creativity

Emotional Symptoms

  • Feelings of tension
  • Irritability
  • Restlessness
  • Worries
  • Inability to relax
  • Depression
  • Crying
  • Lack of meaning in life and pursuits
  • Loneliness
  • Quick Temper

Behavioral Symptoms

  1. Avoidance of tasks
  2. Sleep problems
  3. Fidgeting
  4. Tremors
  5. Grinding teeth
  6. Strained facial expression
  7. Clenched fists
  8. Changes in drinking, eating, or smoking behaviors
  9. Procrastination
  10. Increased drive to be with, or withdraw from others

Physical Symptoms

  • Stiff or tense muscles
  • Sweating
  • Tension headaches
  • Feeling faint
  • Feeling of choking
  • Difficulty swallowing

  • Frequent or urgent urination
