Reasons To Buy and Eat Organic Foods

Even after rinsing, the average conventionally-grown apple has 20-30 artificial poisons on its skin. Do you really want to absorb that into your body?

Fresh organic produce contains on average 50% more vitamins, minerals, enzymes and other micro-nutrients than intensively farmed produce.

By eating only organic you are avoiding the foods that are genetically modified (GM).

Intensively-reared dairy cows and farm animals are fed a dangerous cocktail of anti-biotics, growth promoting drugs, anti-parasite drugs and many other medicines on a daily basis, whether they have an illness or not. These drugs are then passed directly to you and your family. The more we learn about the dangerous conditions of our foods, the less likely we will be to develop diseases.

I like to think when I eat an egg, the hen that laid it was nurtured and fed all organic feed grazing on the land. The processing plants of animals that are being used for mass market non organic foods are beyond inhumane

Organic foods taste better with out all the extra pesticides and preservatives added.

Organic farms support and nurture our diverse wildlife.

Organic foods may seem to be more expensive than intensively farmed foods, but as we shell out millions of dollars to clean up the toxins the non conventional farms add to our planet alone, we would in return be saving our planet and our wallets to support our diets and our wildlife.

There are much higher instances of cancer, respiratory problems and other major diseases in farm workers than from non-organic farms. If that doesn't tell you how harmful the toxins are.

Organic products meet stringent standards. Organic certification is the public’s assurance that products have been grown and handled according to strict procedures without persistent toxic chemical inputs. When you see that a product has been Certified Organic by QAI (Quality Assurance International), you can rest assured that the product, its ingredients and the manufacturer have gone through a thorough investigation.
Organic production reduces health risks. Organic farming keeps harmful chemicals and pesticides out of the food and liquids we consume. Many EPA-approved pesticides were registered long before extensive research linked these chemicals to cancer and other diseases. Currently, the EPA considers 60% of all herbicides (weed killers), 90% of all fungicides (mold killers), and 30% of all insecticides (insect killers) as potentially cancer causing. With the prohibition of the use of antibiotics in animal feed, which are routinely used in conventional farming and is known to create dangerous antibiotic-resistant pathogens, you can be assured with organic food to have no chemicals in your food. Not only are you helping provide yourself with a healthier intake of food, but the farmers who provide your food are at a less toxic exposure to the pesticides as well.
Organic farmers work in harmony with nature. Organic agriculture respects the balance demanded of a healthy ecosystem: wildlife is an essential part of a total farm and is encouraged by including forage crops in rotation and by retaining fence rows, wetlands, and other natural areas.
Organic farming helps keep rural communities healthy. The USDA predicts that by the year 2000, half of U.S. farm production will come from 1% of farms. Organic farming may be one of the few survival tactics left for the family farm and the rural community.
